THRIVE Model of Integration™ Workbook

Are you considering a psychedelic journey? Have you experienced a psychedelic journey and not sure what to do or how to integrate your experience for meaningful change? The THRIVE Model of Integration Workbook can help. This workbook combines the knowledge, wisdom, and traditions from indigenous cultures, evidence from modern psychedelic research, and psychoeducation into a holistic evidence-based framework. This framework guides you through specific areas relative to the human experience that history and research have shown to be the most relevant to the integration of psychedelic experiences and journeys. This model does not stand alone; it is an integration and synthesis of the work and experience of many other people, organizations, and cultures who have been and are currently in this space - from shamans and medicine women of the past and present, to researchers in neuroscience, mindfulness and meditation, narrative reconstruction, neuroimaging, learning theory, trauma, psychology, psychopharmacology, addiction, cognitive science, education, and many more.

This workbook and the exercises it contains pays homage to the indigenous and traditional cultural use of psychedelics and works to begin the integration process before the psychedelic experience to set the stage at the neuronal level for the true growth and transformative healing and change that is possible through psychedelic medicine.

This integration workbook is suitable for anyone who is thinking about or planning a psychedelic journey or has had a meaningful psychedelic experience and is seeking a structured approach to understand and apply the insights from that experience. Such experiences could arise from a range of contexts, including:

  • Clinical Settings: Individuals undergoing psychedelic therapy in supervised settings can benefit from a workbook to maintain and deepen the insights gained during their sessions. This includes dissociative medicines such as ketamine. NOTE: For clinicians or retreat guides using this workbook as part of their practice, the information and data collected by the THRIVE Respondent Interview Protocol (TRIP)™ can be used to supplement the information covered by this workbook.

  • Personal or Recreational Use: While the use of psychedelics in recreational settings is subject to personal choice and legality, those who approach these experiences with intention and seek meaning can utilize integration workbooks to enhance personal growth.

  • Shamanic Rituals: Individuals participating in traditional shamanic ceremonies can find a book's framework helpful for processing and integrating the spiritual and psychological aspects of their experiences.

  • Microdosing: Even with sub-perceptual doses, regular users of microdoses have reported changes in mood patterns, which call for introspection and integration to harness these effects constructively.

This integration workbook is divided into 3 stages and designed to be used over 8-weeks and will help guide you through learning about yourself, identifying patterns, setting goals, creating intentions, and identifying integration activities utilizing easy to understand evidence-based principles. Integration is the dawn after the dream, the daily practice that brings the beauty of the night's visions into the bright light of your day-to-day existence.
